Atlantic salmon become thermally stressed when water temperatures exceed 23 °C. To alleviate this stress, they behaviourally thermoregulate by moving to patches of cold water, often forming large aggregations. These patches are known as thermal refuges. Given the consensus that climate change will increase temperatures in Atlantic salmon catchments, thermal refuges will become increasingly important in minimising summer mortalities. While the behaviour of salmonids within thermal refuges is fairly well understood, less is known about their main stem movement in search of thermal refuges or its thermal and temporal cues. We detail the results of a PIT telemetry study to investigate the main stem movement behaviour of thermally stressed Atlantic salmon parr in a temperature‐impacted river. PIT antennas placed around two thermal refuges and at the upstream and downstream limits of their surrounding reach were used to record the movement of salmonids during a heatwave. We observed parr movement at the upstream and downstream antennas 135 min prior to the occurrence of the midpoint of aggregations in the thermal refuges, indicating that Atlantic salmon parr make reach‐scale movements in search of cool water prior to aggregating. Logistic regression showed that the number of degree hours >28 °C predicted the occurrence of main stem movement with a good degree of accuracy, indicating that this temperature represents a fundamental threshold causing Atlantic salmon parr to move towards cool water. Such data could be instrumental in allowing river managers to place limits on human activity within rivers, allowing salmon populations time to recover following heat stress events. 相似文献

Vendace and whitefish in Lake Osensjøen (boreal south‐east Norway) were studied by means of gillnet test fishing (1976–2013) and hydro acoustic acquisition (1986–2011). Vendace increased in number between 1998 and 2009 while growth and size at maturity decreased. The relative density of whitefish decreased in the pelagic habitat, whereas growth and size remained the same. Both species exhibited varying year‐class strength. Whereas strong year‐classes of both species became less frequent after 1980 than before this, this seemed to change after 2000, especially for vendace. Generalised additive models suggested a strong positive relationship between July/August mean air temperature and year‐class strength of both vendace and whitefish. Whitefish recruitment was also negatively affected by the new regulation regime implemented since 1981, and positively correlated with water level after hatching and by late ice off. The reason for the diverging impacts of environmental factors on the two species may be that vendace spawn in deeper waters that whitefish do. The results indicate that increasing summer temperatures benefit recruitment of both species, whereas low water level and early ice off will harm whitefish recruitment. Both trends are caused by climate warming. It may be speculated that increased density of the specialised plankton feeding vendace may affect the algal community through increased predation on herbivorous zooplankton and potentially affect the trophic state of the lake. 相似文献

To research on polysaccharides from Lagenaria siceraria (Molina) Standl.against Newcastle disease virus (NDV).Total polysaccharide and four different solvent extractions of Lagenaria siceraria (Molina) Standl.were extracted by the methods of hot water extraction and ethanol precipition in this study.The content of polysaccharide was measured by phenol-sulfuric acid method and infrared spectroscopy method.The safe concentration and growth of chick embryo fibroblast (CEF) were assayed by MTT method,in order to facilitated the comparison under the same level,the safe concentration was united as 78.125 μg/mL.Under the safety range of concentration,detected the block-virus activity,anti-virus activity and virus-killing activity of polysaccharides through the ways of pre-adding polysaccharides,post-adding polysaccharides and adding polysaccharides with NDV.The results showed that the direct inactivation and propagation inhibition activity of total polysaccharide and four different solvent extractions were stronger than anti-absorption function.Anti-virus inhibition rate of 70%,80% gradient alcohol precipitation of polysaccharides from Lagenaria siceraria (Molina) Standl.(LSP70,LSP80) and total polysaccharide (LSPt)were 40.41%,44.54% and 61.85%,virus-killing inhibition rate were 44.74%,58.76% and 59.38%.LSP80 had the highest virus inhibition rate as 37.14% in the block-virus activity of those five polysaccharides.In summary,70%,80% gradient alcohol precipitation and total polysaccharide in polysaccharides possessed better activity and would be as the materials for further research. 相似文献

本试验通过比较不同饲养标准杜寒杂交肉用绵羊增重、器官发育、屠宰性能及肉品质的差异,确定适宜的饲养标准。采用单因素试验设计,选取体重为(28.30±0.86)kg的杜寒杂交F1代肉羊600只,随机分为4组,每组3个重复,每个重复50只。4组分别饲喂按照以下饲养标准配制的饲粮:本实验室(中国农业科学院饲料研究所农业部饲料生物技术重点实验室)提出的杜寒杂交肉用绵羊饲养标准、美国NRC(2007)、英国AFRC(1993)以及我国农业行业标准的《肉羊饲养标准》(NY/T 816—2004),分别记为CARS、NRC、AFRC和HB。试验期81 d,每3 d记录1次采食量,每20 d进行1次称重,当CARS组羊只的平均体重达到44 kg时,每组选取10只羊进行屠宰,测定其屠宰性能、组织器官重量和肉品质等指标。结果表明:不同组羊只的实际干物质采食量,NRC组AFRC组CARS组HB组,其中NRC组与CARS和HB组间差异显著(P0.05),其他组间差异均不显著(P0.05);平均日增重和胴体重,CARS、HB、AFRC组间差异均不显著(P0.05),且均显著高于NRC组(P0.05);饲料转化率各组间存在显著差异(P0.05),CARS组HB组AFRC组NRC组;屠宰率,CARS组显著高于NRC组(P0.05),与HB、AFRC组间差异均不显著(P0.05);CARS组羊只的心脏、肝脏、肾脏重量占宰前活重比例显著高于其他组(P0.05);背最长肌失水率、肌肉色亮度、红度和黄度值,各组间均无显著性差异(P0.05)。结果提示,杜寒杂交肉羊在不同饲养标准下的实际日增重200~220g,从增重和屠宰性能上来看,CARS制订的饲养标准与国外饲养标准相比具有明显优势。 相似文献

在300 mmol/L Na Cl胁迫条件下,研究了水杨酸对豇豆[Vigna unguiculata(L.)Walp]幼苗生长发育的影响。结果表明,经水杨酸处理的豇豆幼苗株高、茎粗明显提高,促进了幼苗的形态构建。并且幼苗的超氧化物歧化酶和过氧化物酶活性均显著高于对照,丙二醛含量和电解质渗透率显著或明显降低;水杨酸在适宜的施用浓度范围内能够缓解豇豆幼苗的盐害症状,提高抗盐能力,对豇豆幼苗的生长有一定的促进作用,当水杨酸的处理浓度为100~150 mg/L时,作用效果最明显。 相似文献

重庆市温泉资源丰富,温泉洗浴废水运用于绿地灌溉可以节约成本,缓解城市的水危机。温泉洗浴废水对植物生长有正负两方面的影响,与植物的种类,温泉洗浴废水的水质等因素有关。实验以重庆市常见的两种绿地植物——冷水花木春菊为研究对象,对温泉洗浴废水中影响植物生长的pH、固体悬浮物、高锰酸钾,总溶解性固体4个常见指标进行了浓度值对比实验。运用对相对电导率拟合Logistic方程求半致死浓度值的方法,确定绿地植物所能耐受的上限阀值。以此为基础对温泉废水进行相关处理,使温泉废水既可以达到灌溉绿地的水质标准,又能最大限度地降低废水处理成本,从而充分利用水资源。 相似文献
